Future Perspectives
How can we promote transformative change in a world where the future is met with little expectations and the necessary shifts seem undesirable?
This is my bachelors graduation project. The scientific content is still under development. Anyone who would like to collaborate on this project can reach out to hello@annefouchier.com
The project consists of 3 research booklets and an introduction video:
INTRODUCTION VIDEO
This is a prototype and is under further development
BOOKLET 1
The Challenge of the Century
This booklet explores the overwhelming societal issues of our time, with climate change as the defining challenge. It examines how apathy and paralysis shape society’s response, and reflects on how imagination, hope, and civic participation can break the cycle of inaction.
BOOKLET 2
Playful Perspectives
Here, play is presented as a way to approach complex problems like climate change. By embracing creativity, imagination, and the freedom to fail, we can shift from paralysis to empowerment and explore more resilient, future-oriented ways of thinking and acting.
BOOKLET 3
Case Study: Rotterdam
This case study focuses on Rotterdam as a city of participation and resilience. It analyzes the role of identity in urban planning and shows how climate adaptation and civic engagement can reinforce one another in shaping a future-ready city.
